G, 38th Indiana Infantry on Sept. 18, 1861; wounded at the Battle of Stones River, TN on Dec. 31, 1862; sent to a Louisville hospital to recover; reenlisted as a veteran volunteer on Dec. 28, 1863 at Chattanooga, TN; mustered out July 15, 1865; farmer
