She was born April 16, 1919 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Guy M. and Claudia M. Williams Jones.
On June 28, 1936, she married the late Oscar E. "Doc" Heldreth.
Virginia is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara JoAnn and Ernest E. "Gene" Wagner, Sr. of Wyatt and Janet Sue and Roy S. Nutter, Jr. of Morgantown.
Also surviving are her grandchildren and their spouses; Ernest "Gene" and Judy Wagner of Wyatt; Tammy and John Holt of Adamsville; Lenita Wagner of Mannington; Donald and Patricia Wagner of Swisher Hill; David Nutter of Morgantown; and Ann Nutter of New Carrollton, Md; her great grandchildren; Kristie Holt; Kari Reeseman, Ginneh Mouser, Philip, Ben, Jason, Morgan, Nathan and Abigail Wagner; and two great great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Reeseman and Thomas P. Wagner.
Virginia was a member of the former Wyatt United Methodist Church where she served as Church Historian; Sunday School teacher; Church Treasurer; and she worked with Bible School for many years. She was retired from the Harrison County Board of Education where she served as a cook at the Wyatt Grade School. Virginia enjoyed her years of cooking and caring for the children in her community. She also enjoyed writing and collecting the history of Wyatt.
She was a charter member of the Wyatt Rebekah Lodge; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 103 in Shinnston and a member of the Wyatt Farm Women's Club.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston from 2-4 and 6-9 on Sunday. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Donald Wagner, officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
