Linda "Gene" Davis, 68, passed away, after a struggle with leukemia, on Friday, July 30, 2010. Gene was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, September 9, 1941 to parents, Willma Short and Kenton Oller. She was their only child. Gene served the State of Oklahoma by advocating for the elderly as a nursing home inspector for over 30 years. She was an active parish member of the St. Charles Borromeo community. While in Minnesota she was comforted by the parish community of St. John the Evangelist and Father Liekhus. She was active with not one, but two Red Hat Society clubs. Gene enjoyed socializing, gardening, traveling, and having a good meal with good friends. New Year's Eve will not be the same without her annual black-eyed peas.Gene leaves a legacy of a son, Ted Davis, his wife Heather and their first child; a daughter, Traci Hazlett, her partner Robyn; grandchildren, Lauren (Matthew) and Jessica Webb-Hazlett.Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 5, 2010, at St. Charles Bor romeo Catholic Church at 50th and Grove, Warr Acres, OK.Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 4-7 pm with the family, at the funeral home.Tributes may be made at www.chapelhill-okc.com www.chapelhill-okc.com
