Wilma is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Eugene Warner Hamm; her eldest daughter, Eugena K. Watson; her sister, Geneva Welch; and two grandsons, Ronald P. Hamm Jr. and Shawn Michael Hamm.
Wilma enjoyed many activities, including cooking, flower gardening, putting up the harvest from the family garden. She also enjoyed bird watching, reading, traveling, and working crossword puzzles, but her greatest joys and triumphs were being a loving mother and friend to her children and family. As a mother, Wilma set strong examples for her sons and daughters about living life to its fullest. Surviving breast cancer, overcoming hardship, and sustaining a life-long value based moral compass are just a few examples her children and family have been honored to witness.
A celebration of Wilma’s full and interesting life will be held at a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Wilma’s family has requested that donations be made in her honor to The Salvation Army or the charity of your choice. Please send acknowledgments to J. Warner-Stone, 8523 Stark Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46216. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, in West Terre Haute, assisted with arrangements.
