Charles PLR Councilman, 6th child of Frederick and Aucilia Horton Councilman's( My Great Grandparents) 9 children. He was born in Leyden Twp, Cook County, Illinois. His father was a farmer and his mother was a housewife. They moved to DeWitt, IA when he was 6, then to Welton, Clinton, IA where he married Mary Jane (Jennie) Harris in about 1877. By 1880 they were still living there with their eldest daughter, Bessie and Charles was working as a laborer. By 1900 they had moved to Juab, Utah and he was a Quartz miner. They had 4 additional children; Nora 1881, Purl Leroy (my Grandpa)1887 in Ida Grove, IA, Frank Dwight 1894, and Albert 1900, born in Springdale, UT. Albert only lived to be 2 years old. They then moved to Ft Collins, CO where Charles died.

To Derald Johnson Thank you so much for transferring Charles Purl LeRoy Councilman to me. His mother must have thought that she needed to use all the names in the baby book. He was my Great Grandfather and everybody had weird names. My Grandpa was P
