Kathryn was born Oct. 17, 1965, in Des Moines, the daughter of John and Lora (Barton) Ridout. She died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in an automobile accident in Davenport. She was a graduate of Bettendorf High School in 1984. Kathy's high spirit for life was matched only by her love and devotion for her three daughters.
Kathy also had a passion for horses. She was a HSA-certified riding instructor and owned two horses. Kathy was employed as a technical administrator for the Mel Foster Commercial Real Estate office in Davenport. She was engaged to be married to Don Hall of Davenport.
Kathy's survivors, in addition to her fiancé, Don Hall; include two daughters, Shelby and Shannon, Davenport; her parents, John and Lora Ridout, Lansing, Mich.; her brother and sister-in-law, John Ridout Jr. and Terry, Westminster, Colo.; her grandparents, Ed and Emelou Ridout, Longmont, Colo., and Mrs. Rae Sulser, Des Moines.
Jessie was born June 24, 1991, in Iowa City, the daughter of Joey and Kathryn (Ridout) Lehman. She died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, as a result of the accident. Jessie was fearless and adventurous and shared the same high spirit for life and love for horses as her mother. She was a very loving child, devoted to her mother, with attention to detail and organization that was unique. Jessie had just completed the third grade at Fillmore Elementary and was an excellent student.
Jessie's survivors include her father, Joey Lehman, Davenport; her sisters, Shelby and Shannon, Davenport; her grandparents, Mary Lehman, Davenport, and John and Lora Ridout, Lansing, Mich.; her great-grandparents, Allene Clark, Grayson, Ky., Mrs. Rae Sulser, Des Moines, and Ed and Emelou Ridout, Longmont, Colo.
A memorial/trust fund has been established at American Bank & Trust, 1600 4th Ave., Rock Island, IL 61201. A portion of the memorial fund will be used for a memorial project at Camp Abe Lincoln in memory of Kathy and Jessie.
