Funeral services for John H. Brand, 72, brother of Marion Brand, Lead, were held Monday afternoon at the United Church of Faulkton with the Rev. Douglas Barrows and the Rev. Wayne McKirdy officiating. Burial was in the Faulkton Cemetery under the direction of the Sorum-Langslet Funeral Home.

He died April 3 in Tucson, Ariz. Brand a retired mail carrier, was born on April 28, 1901 in Newton, Iowa. He moved to Faulkton in 1910 and married Grace Thayer on Jan. 4, 1922 at Redfield. He was a member of United Church of Christ.

Besides his brother in Lead, he is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Alice) Fala, Clearfield, Utah; one son, Thayer, Paoli, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and three sisters. He was preceded in death by one sister.
