Mrs. Jeanette McLean, aged Nokomis resident, passed away at her home at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday February 13 at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 26 days.
The deceased had been ailing for ten weeks. Her death was attributed to diabetes.
Mrs. McLean was born March 10, 1856, in Kilbourne, Scotland. She came to the United States in 1872 and to Nokomis in 1908.
On January 6, 1886, she was united in marriage with Charles McLean in a ceremony performed in Braidwood, Illinois. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and the P.M. of A. auxiliary.
Mr. McLean preceded his wife in death and three children died in infancy. Surviving are the following children Robert McLean, Mrs. Minnie Williams, William McLean and Thomas McLean, Nokomis; Charles McLean, Hillsboro; Mrs. Elizabeth Bill, Mrs. Jeanette Martin and John McLean, Melrose Park; Mrs. Margaret LeMeur and Mrs. Mabel Reid, Chicago, and Mrs. Irene Lankford, Irving. There are also 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock this Thursday afternoon at the family residence, 201 Frederick street, with Rev. E.M. Moser officiating.
