Mr. Alfred Clayton "Buck" Owens, age 73, of Red Top Road, Ferguson died Friday, July 16, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00, Monday, July 19, at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Lewis Fork Baptist Church from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
Mr. Owens was born in Wilkes County, October 17, 1936, to Oren Herbert and Edith Waters Owens. He was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Owens was employed at CSX Railroad as an electrician until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Owens.
Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Patricia Roberson Owens of the home; two daughters, Cindy Owens Herman and husband, David of Charlotte and Susan Owens Huffman and husband, Terry of Ferguson; seven sisters, Emma Jean Owens Windom of Newport News, VA, Peggy Owens Dobson of La Plata, MD, Wilma Owens Healey and husband, John of Newport, TN, Inez Owens of Millers Creek, Vivian Owens Green and husband, Lonnie of White Plains, TN, Sandra Owens Melaga of Clemmons, Sharon Owens Gryer and husband, Jimmy of Millers Creek; four brothers, Ralph Owens and wife, Jackie of Clemmons, Joe Owens and wife, Sandra of Winston-Salem, Benny Owens of Purlear, Danny Ray Owens and wife, Linda of White Pine, TN; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
