Lucy Ellen Richardson was born on May 26, 1855 in the Marble Valley of Coosa County. She was the 7th of eight children born to Thomas Wiley "Will" Richardson and Jane Trousdale.

She married John William Ausburn Bradley on December 8, 1874 in Coosa County. Lucy and John grew up in the Marble Valley and their farms were next to each other.

Lucy and John moved to Wilsonville in Shelby County in the early to mid 1890's. She later moved to Besemer, Jefferson, Alabama in the early 1920'.

Lucy passed away in Besemer on December 13, 1926. She was living with her daughter Mary Attie Bradley-Spearman at the time of her death. She is buried next to her husband in the Union Baptist Church cemetery in Lipscomb, Jefferson, Alabama.
