He served in the Aleutians and Germany. Curtis seved under General George Patton. Curtis was awarded the GC Medal, ETO Ribbon, 6 Overseas Bars, APO Medal and AP Medal. In 1945, he was discharged.
On 3 September 1950, Curtis Armon Smith and Isabel Mary "Delly" Dias were married in Thibodaux, Louisiana. There were no children born of this marriage. Curtis and Delly lived in Shriever, Louisiana. Curtis was a Head Roustabout Pusher for Texaco. His brother Loy had the same job, but Loy worked a different shift.
