Deeply interested in civic concerns, Willie Gladden, along with several concerned men and women of our community, opened Hillcrest Home in 1953. With the majority of its staff comprised of volunteers, Hillcrest nursing home aims to provide Christlike care and service to its residents.

Willie's daughter, Vivien Gladden Magness, carried on her mother's vision and passion as a board member of Hillcrest for many years. Vivien was more than just a board member, it was a legacy from mother to daughter of love and care for others. Then in 1999, when Vivien herself became a resident, Hillcrest Home returned that love and care to her.
