Henry is listed in the 1897 Brooklyn city directory - so I assume he was still living, but the 1900 census, dated June 11, 1900, shows his 2nd wife as a widow. Henry was divorced from his 1st wife, so I have to assume he was buried with his 2nd wife, Mary, and several of their children, Arthur and Charles who are known to be buried at Cypress Hills.
There is a death record for a Henry Holmes (b. ca. 1838) who died in Kings County July 6, 1897. This may be him.
Update: Carolina Padin of Cypress Hills confirms that Henry Holmes was buried July 7, 1897 in "Gr. 100, Cypress Knolls" with Mary L. Holmes who was buried with him on May 20, 1919.
