OBITUARY: October 7, 1929 - Custer County Historical Society, Inc., P.O. Box 334, Broken Bow, Nebraska
"Marvin S. Parker, formerly of Arcadia, Nebraska, died at his home 7 miles north of Crosbyton on Monday. His death came as a result of heart trouble which confined him to his bed last Thursday. He was born November 13, 1863 at Andover, Ohio, and died at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 10 days. He moved west with his parents to Grand Island, Nebraska where he met and married Miss Bertha White. From Nebraska, he came to Crosbyton. He is survived by his wife, 9 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 sisters. The children are Ira, Robert and Theodore Parker, all of Littlefield, Mrs. Alene Fowler of Muleshoe, Mrs. Dora Fowler of Baileyboro, and Claussen, Stanley, Ada and Florence who live at home with the mother. His two sisters surviving are Mrs. A. Fowler and Mrs. Howard Goddard of Venice, California. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church of Crosbyton, Texas, conducted by Rev. T. A. Johnson and he was buried in the Crosbyton Cemetery with A.A. Hatchell, local undertaken in charge. (Taken from the Crosbyton, Texas paper) Mr. Parker came to Crosbyton from Arcadia, Nebraska in 1917 and has since been one of the most prominent farmers in the community at Crosbyton."
