Hessel McBeth, 76, of Ottumwa and formerly of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Ottumwa Hospital.
He was born October 16, 1903, in Butler to Zack and Estella Yeoman McBeth. He farmed with his father near Martinsburg, moved to Sigourney in 1966 and moved to Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa in 1974.

Survivors include sister, Hazel McConnell of Cedar Rapids, Lucille Blevins of Hedrick, Inez Samuels of Oskaloosa and Alma Terrell of Promise City and brothers Roland of Des Moines, Denver of Martinsburg, Lawrence of Oskaloosa, Archie of Ottumwa and Firman of Mount Pleasant.

Funeral services were held Monday October 6 at 1:30 p.m., in the Helm Funeral home in Sigourney with Rev. Marion Dodson of First Church of the Nazarene in Ottumwa officiating.

Burial at the Helm cemetery east of Fremont.
