Virginia Louise Rhodes ''Pete'' Collins, 68, passed away Sept. 25, 1996, in her home after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Collins was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Norfolk, a daughter of Charles Harvey and Anna Eliza McDaniel Rhodes. She married Patrick William Pasquali Monaco in June 1943 in Berkley. They divorced. She married Robert Joseph Veliz, March 25, 1949, in Norfolk. They divorced. She married R.B. Collins, Nov. 5, 1965, in Elizabeth City, N.C. He passed away April 27, 1996.
She lived in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, then in California and Utah her last five months. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Robert J., and wife, Kathleen Veliz Jr., of Sunset; two daughters, Catherine Monaco, and husband, Bill Woods, of Virginia Beach and Sarah ''Candy'' Veliz, and husband, Doug Bouchard, of the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews; one sister, Mary, and husband, Rufus Anderson, of Virginia Beach.
At her request, there will be no services. Cremation is under the direction of Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary.
