Mrs. Myrtle LaBarreare Mozingo - was 93 years young when she slipped through the gates of Heaven to meet her Lord on February 10, 2011. She was at home surrounded by her loved ones. Myrtle placed her love of God and family above all else. She was a devoted wife to W. O. Mozingo for 68 years, as well as a nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Through her God given abilities, Myrtle creatively was expressed as she freely gave love to others. In her compassionate way, she gave strength and encouragement to everyone the Lord placed in her path. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, W. O. Mozingo. She is survived by three children, Linda Mozingo Murphy, William Gary (Maria) Mozingo, and John Wayne (Lori) Mozingo; and one sister, Billie Wright. Myrtle leaves behind a legacy of love to three grandchildren, Ayla Mozingo Stafford, Diana Mozingo, and Eric Philip (Jennifer) Murphy; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Stafford, Amanda Murphy, Colin Murphy, and Ethan Murphy; other family and friends, including her devoted caregivers, Julia Cunningham and Earlean Butler. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. "Christ personally offers you an invitation to come join Him in eternal life" (1 Corinthians 15:55). The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, February 14, 2011 from Government Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Mozingo will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
