FRANKLIN Mr. Donald Raymond Franklin - born May 15, 1949, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 after a two year battle with cancer in a local hospital. Mr. Franklin was employed by International Paper Company in Mobile for thirty years and most recently employed by Northrup Grumman in Gautier, MS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Tillman's Corner where he was also a member of the Celebration Choir and Orchestra. He was a private pilot and Flight Enthusiast and a friend of many other local pilots. Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston DeBritt Franklin and Hallie Jane Estess Franklin. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Crigler Franklin; two children, S/Sgt. Dale A. Franklin, U.S.A.F. and Emily (Michael) Moore; two step-children, Brent C. Vegliacich and Joey (Mary Candace) Vegliacich; one grandson, Ethan G. Franklin; two sisters, Betty Tanner and Nell (Jimmy) Hamrick; his twin brother, Ronald (Donna) Franklin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneral home.com.
