Doris Wallace Wadford, 88, of Kenbridge, Va., widow of Alvin Wilder Wadford, died January 17, 2005. She is survived by her five children, Gail Marx and her husband, Bill, of Kenbridge, Sue Rash and her husband, Tom, of Richmond, Wilder Wadford and his wife, Margret, of Weaverville, N.C., Jenny Hamm and her husband, Arnold, of Raleigh, N.C. and Jeff Wadford of Center Cross, Va.; seven grandchildren, Dawn Moody of Kenbridge, Timmy Moody and his wife, Lori of Palmyra, Va., Hodges Rash and his wife, Emily, of Aliquippa, Pa., Grant and Wilder Hamm of Raleigh, N.C., Aaron Wadford of Richmond, and Jeffrey Wadford of Center Cross, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Chase Anderson, Olivia and Christopher Moody and Thomas Rash; sisters, Elsie McGinnis of Townsend, Del., and Elizabeth Higgins of Huntington, W.Va.; brothers, Will and wife, Gail, Wiley and wife, Carole, and Dennis Wallace, all of Kenbridge. Mrs. Wadford was the former owner and operator of Kenbridge Motel and Hickory House Restaurant. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 19, 11 a.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, with interment in the Kenbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at all times at the home of Bill and Gail Marx at 701 E. Fifth Avenue, Kenbridge.
