Mary Elizabeth Efird, 69, died Friday, Aug. 4, 1989 in the Arkansas Health Care Center in Hot Springs. She was born March 17, 1920 in Missouri, was a homemaker, widow of Willie Efird, daughter of the late William Daniel and Martha Elizabeth Cook Van Horn and a Baptist.
Surivors include two daughters, Pat Shnaekel of Malvern and Catherine Griggs of Prattsville; five brothers, Gene Van Horn of Burnett, Texas, Ray Van Horn of Fresno, Calif., Herb Van Horn and Ed Van Horn of Tulsa, Okla., Don Van Horn of Spanaway, Wash.; two sisters, Laura Stapp and Clara Blackburn of Tulsa, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was 2 p.m. today (Monday) in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wendell Bedford officiating. Burial was in Harp Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Adkins, John Griggs, Bill Schnaekel, Lindell Dollar, Gary Butler, Mitchell Burris, Steve Van Horn and Dennis Van Horn.
Honorary pallbearers were Lehman Bounds and Earl Yates.
