Jamestown resident Maude Wilson dies at 99

Maude E. Wilson, 99, a resident of Jamestown for 91 years, died early today at Witham hospital.

She was born in Clayton in 1879, the daughter of John R. and Avaline Lowry Yelton. In 1901, she married Thomas J. Wilson. She attended schools in Jamestown and was a member of Jamestown Christian Church for 83 years.

She is survived by two sons, Maurice Wilson, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; John R. Wilson, Jamestown; a daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Hammil, Ospery, Fla.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Ethel [Griner], preceded her in death.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Puckett officiating. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and burial will be at Jamestown IOOF Cemetery.
