Our beloved Sylvia, age 47, passed away on February 26, 1991, surrounded by those who loved her.

Sylvia was born October 17, 1943 in Seattle, Washington to Glenn Lowe Butler and Clara Helene Rhuddy. She married D. Peter Lassig on March 10, 1965, in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. They had eight children: Elise Lassig Stanley, John Lassig (currently serving in the LDS Las Vegas Mission), Jennifer Lassig, Peter Lassig II, Rachel Lassig, Nathan Lassig, Clarisa Lassig and Aaron Lassig, who completed their eternal family.

Other family members include five brothers and four sisters: Sandra Terry, Kenneth Butler, Glenn Butler, Jr., Margaret Eggen, Darrell Hanson, Dorothy DeBoer, Sue Bills, Richard Butler, and Roger Butler.

Sylvia was a bright, effervescent spirit, whose wit, enthusiasm, courage, generosity and faith will continue on as a guiding beacon in the lives of those who loved her. We will miss the glorious sunshine she brought into our lives.

Open house for family and friends Friday, March 1st at the Rose Park Stake Center, 760 No. 1200 West, from 6-8 p.m. (northside). Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2nd, at 12 noon, also at the stake center (west chapel). Friends may greet family one hour prior to funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be accepted for the Rose Park 9th Ward Missionary Fund or the Boy Scouts of America.
