Violet Mae Gatten, 76, formerly of Carlisle, died Friday in Cumberland County Nursing Home.
Born July 13, 1912 in Carlisle to the late Blaine and Mae Harglerode Warner, she resided most of her life in Carlisle and was the widow of Clyde R. Gatten, Sr.
Surviving are five sons, Richard B., Sherrill L. & Kenneth, all of Carlisle, William H. of RD 9 Carlisle and Clyde R., Jr. of Ithaca, N.Y.; three daughters, Patricia Sunday of Mechanicsburg, Beulah Powell of Woodward, Okla., and Lilly Pinchock of Camp Hill; three sisters, June Smith and Janet Stoltenburg, both of Carlisle, and Myrtle Maurice of Mt. Holly Springs; several grandchidren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Street, Carlisle, with the Rev. Paul Whitmoyer officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services Tuesday.
