Mrs. Hattie Valerie Lyles Johnson entered eternal rest Monday evening, June 14, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Mr. Alphonso Johnson.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. Johnnie Lyles and Mrs. Myrtle Hardy Lyles. She was a native of Spartanburg County. She was a retired educator from District seven public schools. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Daryl Lamar Johnson of Ellenboro, NC; one daughter, Shelita Yvette Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; one step-son preceded in death, Kevin Johnson; two brothers preceded in death, Billie Lyles and Sammie Lee Lyles, and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Dr. Charles J. J. Jackson, III will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
