He was born in Flint January 21, 1941, to Charles I. and Mabel (nee Saxon) Bellant. He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1960.
He married Daune Burgess, a former Trout Lake resident, on the beach at Trout Lake State Park June 12, 1982.
Mr. Bellant was a member of the Otisville Lions Club, and the United Auto Workers Union Local 599.
During his summers in Trout Lake, he especially enjoyed visiting with his friends and family members in the area.
Mr. Bellant is survived by his wife, a daughter, Jennifer of Ypsilanti, a son-in-law, Michael Donner of Mount Pleasant, a sister, Frances Fuhst of Vanderbilt, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Frank, and his mother-in-law, Leona Burgess of Trout Lake.
A memorial service was Thursday, April 5, at Hudson Funeral Services in Otisville. The Reverend Jim James officiated. Graveside services will be at Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville at a later date.
