William Pete "Bill" Bournias was born 25 Mar 1883 in Harokopio, Messina Co., Greece to Pete and Elanie Bournias. He came to the USA about 1904 and docked at Ellis Island. In East Moline, Rock Island Co., Ill. he married on 4 July 1910 to Eugenia "Virginia" Pontikis who had arrived in USA about 17 days earlier for this prearranged marriage. His WW I draft registration card (1917-1918) shows he was married to Eugenia, ran a Confectionary, lived at 101 Market St., New Braunfels, TX. In 1920 they are on the census in East Moline, Ill. in household of his brother Frank & wife Regenia and that "Bill" & Eugunia have two children, Helen (8) and Sam (4yrs 3 mo.) In 1930 they are on the census in Navasota, Grimes Co., TX.

Their children were Fannie Bournias that died at 5 mo. of age in East Moline, Ill.; Helen Elaine Bournias Arhos (1911-2004); "Tacia" Bournias(1912-1914); Sam Bill Bournias (1915-1960); Teetsa Bournias Paras (1922-1964) and Bessie Bournias who died in Navasota at 10 mo. 17 days of age.
