David Frank Bland 67 of Indianapolis died June 01, 2010. David was born March 26, 1943 in Indianapolis to Silas Bland and Mary L. (Smith- Bland) Merrit. David served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp from August 27, 1961 to March 14, 1966. David was a lifetime member of the V.F. W. Post # 5626 and he was the Past Commander of the 11th District. David was a foreman for Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motor Speedway Plant where he retired. David was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen (Lynch) Bland; one grandchild; three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughters Cassandra L. (Richard) Banta, Tammy S. (Tony) Lewis, Rhonda K. Radford, Kristy L. Pollard; companion, Nancy Mildenberg; step son Michael Lynch and step daughter Christy (John) Smith, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, sister Cheryl Goodlet and brother Donald Bland. Visitation was held Thursday June 03, 2010 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Lawrence 5215 North Shadeland Ave. Lawrence, IN. with a funeral service held on Friday June 04, 2010. Burial is in Washington Park East Cemetery.
