Andy lived with his stepmother Martha Keen until she died. At that time, the girls, Sarah and Maggie, had already died. He told the boys that he would have to put them in a home until he got married. Robert Lee went down to a cotton plant where work was more plentiful. Hugh soon followed as did Sid when old enough to get a job. Both men married girls from around Little Rock.

On Andy's death cert. in Allen Co., Ky. it states his cause of death was cancer of stomach. He died at 2 am. 73 yrs 7 mon. 21 days (should be 14 days)
