LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Edward Cheek, 90, South Mill Street, London, Ky., passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010, at his residence.

A native of Laurel County, he was born June 5, 1919, the son of the late Clint and Rhoda Tuttle Cheek. He was a retired fork lift operator and a member of Union United Baptist Church, London.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Delmas Carl Cheek; two sisters, Anna Overbey and Laurie Jeffers; and three brothers, Taft Cheek, Bill Cheek and Theo Cheek.

Survivors include his wife, Angeline Overbey Cheek, London, Ky.; four daughters, Donna Proffitt, East Bernstadt, Ky., Beverly Bentley, London, Ky., Kay McQueen, Beulaville, N.C., and Wanda Baldridge, Greenwood, Ind.; four sons, Robert Eugene Cheek, Spannaway, Wash., Jimmy Cheek, Jasonville, Ind., Dennis Cheek, Brownstown, Ind., and Richard Cheek, London, Ky.; 29 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at London Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Hamblin officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andy Brock, Dennis Cheek, Kevin King, David Baldridge and Chase Isaccs.
