Thelma was petite, short, had dark hair and flashing dark eyes, and a sweet disposition. She was well respected and also an astute businesswoman and worked for the railroad for many years as a secretary. Soft-spoken, devoted but sure, she was always on her family's side no matter what the issue, and loved them fiercely.
Her gentle guidance helped us all become the best that we could, because that was what she expected of us and would accept no less.
About 1940, she married Henry Pape and they eventually retired to their little house in Savannah where she remained until her death in 1968.
She was my Grandmother.
