Margaret H. Doudna passed away on May 22, 2010 at Life Quality Homes under the care of Pikes Peak Hospice. She was born in Clear Lake, IA on July 13, 1920 to Celia Clack and Melville P. Hughes.

She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1941. While teaching school in Spirit Lake, IA, she met Burton C. Doudna whom she married on December 17, 1944. As an Air Force wife, she traveled the US, settling in Colorado Springs in 1957. She began teaching elementary school in 1958 for Fountain-Fort Carson School district #8, Retiring in 1980 as an administrator.

Margaret was an active member of PEO Chapter EM, Colorado Springs, having been initiated into Chapter EA Clear Lake, IA in 1943. Burt and Margaret joined Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in 1967. Singing in the choir for many years was a special joy, as was serving on various committees and being involved in several small groups.

Margaret is survived by a sister, Katherine Short of Mason City IA, her four children, Juli Gill, Chuck Doudna (Elaine) of Colorado Springs, CO, Tom Doudna (Lor) of Westminster, CO. and Doug Doudna (Sandy) of Grand Lake, CO, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. May 26, 2010 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Drive, Security, CO.

Burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Dove-Witt is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be sent Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Drive, Security, CO 80911.
