Just a week after the funeral of his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, the funeral
of Capt. George H. Smith, a veteran of the Civil War, will be held this
afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at the chapel of the Boyle Heights Undertaking
parlors.
Captain Smith, who was 78 years old, was very ill at the time of the death
of his wife with a severe case of pneumonia, which caused his death late
Wednesday night.
The aged couple had resided for the last four years at 2120 Michigan avenue,
coming to Los Angeles from Seattle. A daughter, Mrs. Parker, from Seattle,
has been residing with them for the last few months.
The G. A. R. will officiate at the funeral of Captain Smith, who was a
prominent member of that organization.
