22nd Mich Inf Co H

Terril, Henry, residence Green Oak, MI. Enlisted in company H, Twenty-second Infantry, Aug 9, 1862, at Lyon, MI, for 3 years, age 27. Mustered Aug 22, 1862. Taken prisoner at Chickagauge, Ga., Sept 20, 1863. Died in prison at Andersonville, Ga., May 23 1864.Buried in National Cemetery at Andersonville, Ga. Grave No. 1304.

Rev. William Benjamin Hartzog acquired his education at Van Wert County, Ohio schools and graduated from Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio and Bonebreak Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio in 1887. He was a pastor in Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio churches for twenty years and in Tecumseh, Michigan for ten years and in Mason, Michigan for eight years. He is the author of a work entitled "Ancient Masters and Jesus." This book won him the degree of Ph.D. from Central University, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1905. He lectured extensively on religious and literary subjects over Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Michigan. As a Republican, he was elected to the legislature in 1924 and re-elected on November 2, 1926.
