CHARLES W BETTS: 83; Keokuk,died Thursday [10-5] at GrahamHosp where he was a patient for 2wks. He had been ill for the past 6 weeks. Born 21 Mar 1884 at Quincy IL, he was a son of Benjamin & Emeline Betts. He married Jessie Henson 18 Mar 1914 in Keokuk. He was a frmr board member of First ChristianChurch, Christ-ian Mens Fellowship & frmr Governor of Moose Lodge-704 Keokuk. He worked for Ackerson & Ringstrom Cabinet Co for 24yrs & Linquist Bros Furniture for 28yrs.
Survivors include 3 sons: Arthur, Oscar, Louis Betts-all Keokuk; 2 daus: Alice (sp-Wm) Peel-Keokuk; Jessie Betts-at home, 16 grandchil-dren, 26 gr grandchildren & several nieces--nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sons & a dau.
Service will be Saturday[10-7] at Schmidt Memorial Home with RevEllsworth Woods officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cem.
