Dempsey Edwin Morrow, 87, husband of Sadie Ray Leidy Morrow, of 180 Motlow School Road, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.

A native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Elbert Edward and Minnie Skinner Morrow, a retired employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in 106 Infantry Division and was a lifelong active member, deacon and Sunday School teacher of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Morrow was a member of the Holly Springs Ruritan Club and Inman American Legion Post # 45.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Daniel E. and Teresa Morrow of Campobello, Deborah and Tommy Steen of Raleigh, NC, Ruth and Mayfield Brown of Inman, and Ernest E. and Kim Morrow of Greenville, Ronald E. and Maria Leidy of Columbia, Ricky and Martha Leidy Stansell of Simpsonville, Wick and Margaret Leidy Lemmons of Greer; one sister, Hazel Drake of Lyman; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by family members, Nelle H. Morrow, Oma R. Morrow, Charlotte Lamb, and Winston Morrow.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 24, 2010 at Holly Springs Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Tim Clark. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
