Charles DeRoy Williamson was the youngest of five sons born to John Robert Williamson and Alvira Coy.
In 1901 he married Flora Faye Paddock. Their first home was a sod hut in Bartlett, Wheeler County, Nebraska, where the first 7 of their 13 children were born. Sometime between 1910 and 1914 he moved his family to Santa Rita, New Mexico where he was employed as a steam shovel engineer.
In 1930 the family moved to Los Angeles County in California where he worked as an Operating Engineer at the Naval Ship Yards until his retirement.
They lived in Hollydale, Los Angeles County, California for many years before moving in with his youngest daughter, Ida and her family.
He loved tinkering with his old Studebaker. He also loved making small items of furniture for his family to use (he learned the art of carpentry from his father).
He was in frail health for over a year prior to his death from "Cerebral Artery Thrombosis".
