Beloved son of Amos and Cloie Burgess Asay, loving father of Shirley Ann Figone and sons-in-law, John Figone, grandfather of Ray, Mike, David and Chris Figone, loving brother of Vern and Lee Asay, Emerald Nichols and Romona May Asay, and great-grandfather of seven. Oren touched the lives of many people. He won many awards with his great gift of wood carvings. Oren joined the CCCs at a young age and joined Kraft Food Company as a mechanic. He married Myrtle Hartman and later divorced. He moved to San Francisco in 1940 and later married Elizabeth Burgess. Oren retired from Kraft Foods after 20 years and joined his brother, Lee, in the service station business in Pleasant Hill. Oren was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Friends are invited to attend the viewing on Thursday, March 24, between 5-8pm at Magleby's Oak Park Hill's Chapel, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek, and 12 noon Friday, March 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2369 Overlook Dr., Walnut Creek. Funeral services will follow at 1pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Concord. Oak Park Hills Chapel.
