Blackwater-- Harry H. Root , 78 died at Fitzgibbons Hospital, Marshall, MO Wed. night after a short illness.
Mr. Root was born in Cooper County,MO in the Prairie Lick Community July 29, 1892 son of the late Guy H and Catherine (Robbins) Root. He lived most of his life in the Blackwater community.
Mr. Root married at Sedalia Oct.26,1911 to Miss Anna Margaret (Cornine) Root, she passed away July 6 1964.
Mr. Root was retired from the Missouri Pacific RailRoad.
Survivors include two sons Paul Eldon Root Sr of Blackwater, MO who Mr. Root resided with for the past two years and James Root of Encinitas California. 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Root was preceded in death sons Foster,Billy,Charles,George, Guy, and one child in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at Ewing Funeral Home with Rev. Omar Wetherell pastor of the Federated Church Arrow Rock officiating.
Paul Bearers will be Herbert Shackelford,Oliver B. Register,Johnny A Chain, JR Renno, Edgar Dial and Leland Self. Burial will be at Penisula Cemetery in Blackwater, MO.
