Mirla George, formerly of Gateway Apartments, Edwardsville, died Sunday at Kingston Manor Health Care. Born Aug. 9, 1906, in Red Rock, Fairmont Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Broody and Mrs. Laura P. Vandermark Croop.
She attended Lopez and Wilkes-Barre area schools.
She was a former proprietor of Kingston Bowling Lanes.
She was a member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre, and the Irem Temple Ladies' Auxiliary.
She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Blossom Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; daughter, Corrine Abraham; grandson, David Rhodes; and brother, Moffitt Broody.
Surviving are daughter, Jeanette Rhodes, West Pittston; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Hanover Township.
