Olive Gold Gedge is the 3rd daughter of Herbert Gedge and Sarah Hannah Gold. She went to Edison Elementry, Salt Lake High School. After graduation she enrolled into a nursing course and graduated as practical nurse the same career as her sister Lorilla had chosen. She nursed in several hospital in Utah and Idaho was well as homecare for the most critical patients. She served a mission in Hawaii. When she returned she returned to nursing. In the late 1940's and early 50's she tried her hand in the operating a corset shop in the Boston Building in Salt Lake City. After several years she went back to nursing. She retired from the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City in the new born care unit. She also was a expert in crocheting. With the money she earned with this talent she made 8 trips from Canada to Mexico. Her work won her many 1st place prized in the Utah State Fair. She made booties and a cap for each baby she cared for at the Primary Children's hospital as an act of love and service. She also took me with her to her Corset Shop and help me with my goals I set. She is a great and loving Aunt. She died of cancer in the end and was buried 25th May 1990. I still mill her.
