RUSK—At his home in Harmony, January 20, 1899
Mr. Rusk was born in Illinois June 8, 1836 came to Oregon in 1872 settling on a large farm in Harmony where he had resided ever since. He served in the civil war, there receiving wounds which disabled him from doing very hard work thereafter. His general health begin to fail about two years ago, at which time he made an extended visit relatives in California and Eastern states. He leaves a wife and ten children all of whom survive him.

The funeral ceremonies were held January 23, at the family residence, conducted by Rev. R. D. Strevfeler. The interment took place in the Multnomah cemetery where a detachment of the G. A. R. of which he was a member, were to take charge of the services, but arrived too late

The estate of thr late John D Rusk father of Speaker John P Rusk of the Oregon House of Representatives was admitted to Probate Wednesday and Mrs. Elizabeth Rusk the widow, was appointed administratrix. The estate is valued at $9600.00 and consists of land near Milwaukie.
