Manhattan native Anna Hibbs died January 10 in Bozeman Deaconess Hospital of natural causes. She was 66.

She was born September 3, 1923, to Thomas and Dirkie (VanderWerff) Verwolf in Manhattan. She grew up and attended school in Manhattan.

On June 13, 1946, she married Wilferd Hibbs. The couple lived in Boulder where she worked for the Boulder School for the handicapped and for a restaurant in Boulder.

He died in 1979 as a result of an auto accident. She then was in the St. James Hospital in Butte for some time as a result of the accident and was later moved to Bozeman in 1987. She lived in the Darlington Manor until her most recent hospitalization.

She was an amateur painter and loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Merle (Iva) Matthews of Bozeman and Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Hotzel of Manhattan; a brother, Peter Verwolf of Paramount, Calif.; numerous stepchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park.
