"Hon. Robert Ruffin Barrow, representing Terrebonne parish in the Convention, was born in that parish on February 28, 1858, and was educated in New Orleans. Mr. Barrow is one of the largest and most influential sugar planters in his section of the State, and is one of these planters who placed principle above bounty and was not carried into the Republican party. He is a Democrat and has been so all his life.
Being an experienced business man, his worth was immediately recognized by president Kruttschnitt, who appointed him on the following committees: Federal Relations, Health, Quarantine and State Medicine and that on Printing and Publishing, where he has done excellent service. Mr. Barrow resides near Homma, Louisiana, and no man has done more to build up and improve that section of the State, than he has. "
