BELGRADE - Catherine Franckoviak Badura, 91, of Belgrade, passed away Oct. 8, 1999, in Belgrade. She was born April 29, 1908, to Steven and Antonia (Herman) Franckoviak in Rockville, Neb.
Catherine grew up in Nebraska and graduated from high school. On Nov. 6, 1931, she married Frank X. Badura. Together they ranched and farmed in Clarksfork, Wyo. for 20 years. They moved to Billings, where they owned and operated various hotels for over another 20 years. They had five daughters and six sons.
Catherine loved her family and was a devoted Catholic. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening and nature.
Catherine is survived by her daughters: Margaret Badura and Carolyn Hubbard of Bozeman; Janice Reichert of Belgrade; Teresa Deso of Midland, Texas; Elemarie Denney of Clarksfork; sons: Martin Badura of Ennis; Fred, Ed, and Frank Badura of Billings; her sister, Sally Wrobleski of Ravana, Neb.; and brother, Al Franckoviak of Ravana. Forty-four grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank; sons, Paul and Gene Badura; and eight brothers and sisters.
There will be a Vigil at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Billings. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Thursday at Little Flower Catholic Church. Internment will follow at the Laurel Cemetery, Laurel. Memorials in Catherine's name may be made to the Little Flower Parish, 209 S. 35th St., Billings, MT 59101.
