Allan C. Cole senior. Age 88 insurance investigator.
Quincy. Allan Clifford Cole Sr. Eighty-eight, of North Quincy, an insurance investigator for the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company for 35 years, died Sunday in the Knoll Nursing Home in Norwell. He retired in 1965.
Mr. Cole was a fourth degree night of the Dorchester Knights of Columbus and a member of the Brookline Elks Lodge, the Quincy Senior Citizens Cribbage Club and the Old-timers Bowling League at O'Linde's in Quincy. He was born in Cohasset, grew up in Dorchester and lived in North Quincy 55 years before entering the nursing home.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Frances (Hanlon); two sons, two daughters; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday in St. Agatha's Church, Milton. Burial will be at Hall Place Cemetery, West Quincy. Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM tomorrow in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Wollaston.
