Father: Robert Adams b: ABT 1760 in Kentucky died in Independence or Izard Co., AR in 1825

Mother: Sarah Unknown who died in Izard Co. AR in 1803

Married Priscilla Catherine Wolf b: ABT 1795 in Asheville, Rowan, North Carolina. Matthew married about age 18. See Wolf House Historian Volume 1 April 1989 #2 Pages 4-10. He and his wife were the first white settlers on the White River. He was a member of the AR Territorial Commission and the first judge of Izard Co., AR.

In 1851, Matthew and Catharine migrated to the San Antonio area before settling in Goliad County in the 1860s and 1870s. So they were in TX before the Civil War.

Matthew's brother John Adams married Pryscilla Catharine Wolf's sister Mary Ann Wolf. John and Mary Ann Adams did not come to TX but died in what was then Izard Co., AR but now know as Baxter Co., AR and are buried in the historic Wolf Family Cemetery.
