Joseph Boris, sr., 83 of Buckner, died Sunday at Franklin Hospital in Benton after a brief illness. r
A resident of Franklin County for 60 years, Mr. Boris owned and operated the Boris Grocery Store in Buckner. J
He was a member of St Andrew Catholic Church in Christopher and the Slovack Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Rogusky Boris, five children, Andrew Boris, Benton; Joseph Boris, Jr., Mrs. Ann Savant and Mrs. Mary Rolek, all of Chicago and Mrs. Matilda Schmidt Harvey and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and the recital of a rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Russell Funeral Home in Christopher. A memorial mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Church.
The Reverend Father Angelo Lombardo will officiate.
Interment will be in church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home After 5 p. m. Tuesday.
