Helen M. Ullrich, 84, former city funeral director

Mrs. Helen M. Ullrich, 84 retired Trenton funeral director died Saturday in Union Hospital in Elkton, Md.

Until last year, she operated the Ullrich Funeral Home, 425 Greenwood Avenue since the death of her husband, Leo M. Ullrich, in 1942.

She graduated from Trenton Normal School and taught in the Trenton school system. She also was a graduate of Eckles College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia. She was active in Zonta, a club for business and professional women, the Mercer County Funeral Directors Association and various German-American associations.

She is survived by five children. William Ullrich of Trenton: Joanne Emmons of Albuqerque, N.M.: Robert Ullrich of Longmont, Colorado: Helene Hertzog of Miami, Florida, and John Ullrich of Newark, Delaware :18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday a 9am from the Edward J. Douress Funeral Home, 325 Centre St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am at St. Francis Church, with burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9pm Tuesday.
