Arvid T. Schweitzer, 70, 1104 S. Harrison St. Alexandria, died Monday at St. John's Medical Center following a lenghty illness.
He retired from John J. Garrett Auto Parts in Anderson in 1979. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria.
Surviving are his wife, Katherine; two sons, Joseph T. Schweitzer of Alexandria and John Garrett Schweitzer of Del City, Okla.; four daughters, Jackie (Barney) Maynard and Jean (Frances) Flecker both of Alexandria, Joyce Frazier of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Janet (Jerry) Alumbaugh of Anderson; one brother, Robert Schweitzer of New Castle; one sister, Marie Fisher of Alexandria; 20 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria with Father Charles Remaklus officiating. Calling hours will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Noffze Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
