Mr. Ashley was born April 19, 1940 in Waxhaw, North Carolina, the son of Carrie Elizabeth Harkey and the late William Kelly Ashley Sr. He worked as a driver for EZ Park and Park Air Express.

Mr. Ashley is survived by his beloved mother, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Tysinger of Charlotte; four sisters, Marsha Sue Tysinger of Charlotte, Erlene Clanton of Charlotte, Linda A. Kersey of Charlotte, Wilma A. Steele of Edgemoor, SC; two brothers, Richard Dixon (Dickie) Ashley of Charlotte, and E.C. (Pete) Tysinger of Huntersville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
